Travel and Regrets Week

If you haven’t heard, I’m off on maternity leave, and I’ve commissioned a slew of excellent guest posters to take over.

This week we are talking about our biggest travel regrets. Travel long enough and you will definitely rack up some. Personally, I regret leaving South East Asia early and never seeing Chiang Mai. I also regret missing out on Peru and Bolivia when we were in South America.  There are probably a few more thing I would do differently if I could do it all over again too.

This week Megan is talking about how she regrets not giving Bangkok the chance it deserved, while Katy Deardoff will talk about her regrets traveling way too fast through Peru.

What’s your biggest travel regret?

We always regret the things we didn’t do…
I regret not checking the opening times properly and missing out on the Tutankhamen museum in Cairo during Ramadan

I definitely regret not booking accommodation in San Simeon, California. Turns out that if you show up on the day, it’s a very expensive piece of spontaneity…

Last year I visited Egypt. I didn’t think I could get the additional time off to also go to Jordan. In Egypt I met some great people that were traveling onto Jordan right after Egypt. It is my biggest regret, as when I returned to work, we were so slow, and in hindsight I could have had time to go to Jordan with my new friends and work wouldn’t have been impacted. And now I’ve seen my new friends amazing photos I have an itch to go…and of course the whole time/money issues have popped up. 🙁

Hey… hmm my biggest travel regret… I don’t know there are many… I had the chance to travel on a bike with my friends in Italy and I couldn’t go for some stupid reason… Years ago I had the opportunity to live abroad in Thailand and I reject it because of my studies… Then had the chance to visit Martinique but I change my job and my substitute went… I mean seriously there are so many regrets hahahaha but still have fantastic memories from other places and even tough I was tired as f*ck and my feet hurts never again miss a chance to visit other places.
