Friday Postcard: Washington DC

No, I’m not homesick already. I just wanted to share this photo I took last spring at the Korean War Memorial. This monument is often overshadowed by the nearby Vietnam Memorial but I think it is equally haunting and somber. This is particularly evident when you get close enough to see the faces of the soldiers:

My mom and I did DC a few years ago and definitely missed the Korean War Memorial because we were so overwhelmed by the Vietnam memorial. Will definitely have to check this out the next time I’m in DC.

Vietnam Memorial is very important too, but it definitely overshadows Korea. I never even really saw it myself until a couple years ago.

The look on that soldier’s face is so very haunting and sad.
