Friday Postcard: Ladakh, India

Today’s photo was contributed by frequent commenter Abhijit from The Corny Traveler’s Chronicles:
This is a photo I took at the Fotu La Pass en route to Leh (Ladakh,India) from Srinagar (India). The Fotu La is the highest point on this road, and is located at a height of 13,479 ft (4,108 metres), and one can’t help feeling a top of the world emotion when standing in the cold breeze at this point.

Awesome shot, Steph. I haven’t visited Ladakh yet but would love to go. I enjoyed so much Nepal a few years ago…

Oh awesome! I just did a write up of some art that opened in a local museum and compared them to Tibetan prayer flags like the ones in the photo. How apropros!

By far one of my favorite regions of the world! I agree about the strong emotions felt upon standing at these mountain passes and Ladakh has always been one of the most powerful and life-changing places that I’ve visited.
