Friday Postcard: Great Falls, Virginia
Posted on 16. Jul, 2010 by Steph in Photos
The waterfalls at Great Falls National Park are both beautiful and powerfully deadly. Every year an average of 7 people drown in the ruddy Potomac waters. They have the steepest drop of any rapids in the Eastern US. As a kid my Dad and I used to hike the popular Billy Goat Trail nearby.

Did you take this recently? If so, it’s really high right now!

This was over memorial day weekend. I can’t remember if there had been a lot of rain recently or not…

That is really beautiful. If I were a little braver, I might try to swim it! Just kidding, but it’s a beautiful spot. Thank you for sharing.

I’ve seen kayaks in there- people with death wishes?
