Friday Postcard: Jökulsárlón, Iceland
Posted on 18. Jun, 2010 by Steph in Photos

Sigh… This time last year I was here. This frosty glacial lake is filled with icebergs which have broken off the Breiðamerkurjökull glacier. They really are that blue- thanks to the way that the light penetrates them. This inlet is a really popular tourist attraction in Iceland and has even been featured in a Bond movie.
You can see more pictures of Jökulsárlón here.

Oh I love this place! It is one of the most beautiful places on earth! I think my favourite bit is the black sand beach with all the chunks of ice laying about. Also ice drifting into the waves is a really weird thing to see.
This is a stunning picture. Man I want to go back there.

It didn’t feel real to be there either. Most of Iceland was oddly surreal…
