I'm planning a trip to Buzio's in 3 weeks with friends who live there....however, I was looking for someplace close by that has Zip Line's....but I'm having trouble finding any, do you know if there are any Zip Lines in the area? We are staying in Buzio's most of the time, but I have a car and my International driving permit already. Thanks for any info.

Parati isn't bad with pricing but you could rack up some money in Buzios if you weren't careful. Some of the clubs were pricey to get in but the smaller bars are less expensive and a better way to see how the locals live. Plus next to The Mix Bar is a great cigar shop.

Glad you liked Petropolis, and maybe next time you go back you can check out the other areas. Although I'm thinking by the time I make it back to Rio it will be a different place once all the FIFA and Olympic preparations set into place.

These places all sound great! It would be hard for me to be sick of Rio since I've never actually been there, but it's nice to know there are some great options outside of Rio that are less crowded, too. (And hopefully, cheaper?)

I was in Rio for a month last year. It was absolutely fabulous, breathtakingly beautiful and some of the most fun I've had in a long time! We actually stayed in Petropolis for a few days too with host families and I loved it there. We definitely didn't prepare for the cold weather in the mountains though. :-P

As for the other places you mentioned we didn't get to those areas but we heard a lot about them from the cariocas. We did however get to spend a weekend in Angra.

I can't wait to go back, Brazil was so much fun and the people we met there were so nice too!

I plan on revisiting Brasil myself, I had such a great time yet only saw places within the state of Rio de Janeiro during my stay. I want to see Bahia, Salvador or visit my friend in Fortaleza, Ceara so much to see and do in this large country. I really recommend Buzios it's a great experience especially after being in Rio for awhile.
