Sosauce: The Saucy Side of Travel

You know, when I started this blog just three months ago, I had no idea how much work it would be. Most of my spare time has been taken up with writing, planning and networking for Twenty-Something Travel. I also didn’t know how rewarding it would be. Not only do I love writing this blog, I’ve really enjoyed getting to know all of the cool bloggers out there and the sense of community.

I was really excited to be profiled this week as a New Face of Travel by an excellent new website called Sosauce. Sosauce is a kind of combination Facebook/Flickr/Wikipedia for young hip travelers. It’s a multimedia resource for sharing your travels. You can upload and store high-resolution photos as well as write travel itineraries, tips and journal entries. You can also connect with other travelers. Here’s a peek at my home page:

For me the coolest thing about Sosauce is the ability to view other people’s travel itineraries. This could be very useful if you planning a trip to say, Italy, and needed ideas on how to tackle it. Sosauce also has a really neat shop where you can order prints, make postcards or transfer your photos onto some awesome accessories. I’ve got my eye on these luggage tags.

Sosauce is not only a meeting place for members of the travel community but they are invested in encouraging travel through their internship program. Interns  who complete an 8 week internship are then sent abroad on a two week service trip of their choice.

Sosauce is staffed by a group of friendly young people who really seem to understand the energy and excitement of travel in your twenties. They call themselves “a progressive and passionate home for travel geeks.” So if you consider yourself one of those I suggest you make your way over there and help to build this unique travel community.
